On August 23, 1934, the General Body already in session at Bethel Temple, Louisville, KY, Host and Hostess Bishop and Evangelist D.T. Schult, were gathered: Evangelists, Missionaries, Godly Sisters, many of whom attending because of their minister husbands, desiring to be a part or contribute to this great ministry, missionary work; met for the purpose of organizing a National Missionary Auxiliary.
We were blessed to have in attendance many great women; the wife of our Founder Bishop G. T. Haywood, Mrs. Ida Howard Haywood of Indianapolis, Indiana; Missionary J.R. Ledbetter of Cleveland, Ohio; who spent 21 years in the interior of Africa. The late Mrs. Kathleen Washington Grimes, wife of Presiding over the meeting, until regular officers were duly elected. The officers were as follows: Chairman Evang. O. B. Clark, Warren, Ohio; Vice-Chairman Evang. Vestula Young of Columbus, Ohio; Secretary Evang. Gladys Barnes, Muncie, Indiana; Assistant Secretary Gladys Wilson, Chicago, Illinois; Treasurer Sister Ida Haywood of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Being a bride of just a few months, my companion a minister and member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., I was privileged to attend this meeting when we organized our Missionary Auxiliary of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.
