Member of Christ Temple Apostolic- Bishop James E. Tyson, Pastor. Evang. Star is currently a student at Christian Theological Seminary and a Doctoral Student in Pastoral Care and Counseling. She is a licensed Evangelist and works in the Prison Ministry for both men and women. She has a 3.9 GPA and will graduate in May, 2009. She plans to serve as a licensed Mental health counselor providing Pastoral Care and counseling to the community. With specialized training for religious leaders, i.e. Pastors and Wives, Evangelists, teachers, and Youth ages 12-18. She states this scholarship was a tremendous blessing. It was the only scholarship she received, she is truly thankful to the IMCWA for helping her to continue in her pursuit of excellence.

Member of Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Temple- Bishop Paul A. Bowers, Pastor. Sister Robb is a Sophomore at Kentucky State University with a 3.2 GPA. She is majoring in Pre Law and Spanish. Sister Robb was also inducted into the Whitney Young Honors Program. At Greater Emmanuel she is a member of the choir, Children's Church assistant, Youth Vision team and also a Praise Dancer. Upon graduation from Kentucky State, she plans on attending Hampton Law School with a concentration in Business Law. Her long term goal is to work overseas in Mexico with Proctor & Gamble in the Product and Marketing Division. She states that this scholarship was a true blessing asn was applied directly to her tuition. She encourages other young ladies to apply for the Dr. Elma J. Bowers Scholarship. As a member of the late Dr. Bowers Church, she says it is more than an honor to continue in the standards and paths that Dr. Bowers set that included both spiritual and academic excellence.

Member of Apostolic Faith Church- Pastor Eddie Massey and Co-pastor Dr. jean Massey. Sister Edrea is a Sunday School Teacher, and Peer educator for community Action for Youth. She will graduate from Kent State University with a Masters of Education Degree. She has a 3.9 GPA. The Health education and promotion program will prepare her to effectively plan, implement and evaluate programs for youth that will address substance abuse and violence related issues. She plans to use her skills in the workplace and also in Church. She is very thankful for the IMCWA Dr. Elma J. Bowers Scholarship and for the opportunity it gave her to help further her education.

Graduated in June, 2007 from Seattle University with a Masters Degree in Pastoral Studies and has enrolled in the doctoral program working towards her Doctor of Ministry. She states that the Elma Jean Bowers Scholarship was a tremendous blessing to her. She is proud to be the first generation female in her family to obtain a higher education. She feels honored to have been one of the recepients and most importantly, being a part of Dr. Bowers' dream. She would like to personally thank the IMCWA for this honor and for their gracious support in helping her dream to be thoroughly equipped to serve in God's kingdom.
